Introduction

Welcome everyone to a world of movies. Where action, drama, fiction, nonfiction, science, and horror is found in the words created by a character. Movies are a fascinating. It is amazing the way a character uses the words he speaks to influence the tone of a movie. With one small dialogue in a movie you can know what the movie will talk about or what the plot will be.
Movies use rhetoric for more than expressing the genre of a movie. They also use rhetoric to show emotion. A movie with a bad rhetoric is bad movie. A good movie to me is classified by how good graphics are and how good the characters are. This means that if a character does not express good rhetoric i would not even bother watching it. I hope you enjoy reading about various movies and how their voices influence the film in a magnificent way.

well, how about movies back in the day that were silent? you know, where all you would get was the picture and some music. how would one be able to tell the tone/genre of the movie? or what the movie would be about?

one thing i would agree on would be on how good the characters and the rhetoric. If the dialogue is bad, chessy, and just wrong, then the whole movie is killed. If the graphics are cheesy, the directing is eh, and the costumes are no good, I can overlook it if the dialouge is awesome.

so, does that mean that the movies you like are because of the dialogue and graphics? What kind of movies?

Hernan,
I want to start off by saying that I myself am a big fan of movies. I'm excited to see how you will unveil to us the different types of rhetoric in movies. There are times when it is obvious to notice the type of rhetoric techniques used in movies but in others it is hard to understand. I believe that our blogs will be very similar because we will both have to talk about a variety of genres, you on genres of movies, and I on genres of music. We might even be able to give each other advice and what not.

Hernan,
I really enjoyed your intro to your topic. I am also very interested in hearing more from rhetoric of movies because I enjoy movies very well.
I hope to be checking your post more often and learning more from it everyday.
I also agree with Vanessa that you should also talk about movies back in the day.

Hernan,
Movies Have always been a way of expressing what people are feeling. Through movies people are able to express all sorts of emotion. And yes most of it is done with rhetoric. Although some of today's movies aren't as good with the usage of rhetoric, some still manage to cause an impact. With this said I hope that you will not only look into new films, but also some older films.

Hernan,
Well so i see that you are doing movies i think this will be an easy topic for you, since you see alot of movies especially when you go with other people*Cough Cough*. Anyway yeah good intro but yeah don't only think about movies of today think about silent movies as well like vanessa said. Either way i liked your post about Pan's Labyrinth and now i wanna see this movie that first of all i never even heard of. So hopefully you listen to all our recommendations and i want you to do a movie if you can. How about Lord Of The Rings:Return Of The King. If you have seen this movie, mostly likely you have, has alot of beautiful graphics and even rhetoric that i may not even know of. So yeah please try doing Lord Of The Rings and i look forward to reading not only your blog but if you do the movie I ask for. So yeah apart from everything else everything is great and watch out for the spelling mistakes, something i have to do as well, So keep up the good blog and i hope to read your next post soon.

Dear Hernan,
I have read about your blog and it made me think about the types of movies that i had watched which makes me think how could you tell what kind of rhetoric it is within the movie? Well i like movies but i sometimes dont get the time to watch some so i would like to keep an update with your blog. Also i think you should also talk about not only about old movies but comparing different types of movies and how they have similar and different. Maybe you could also show us movies that has a bad rhetoric. Anyways i would like to see how your blog will turn out and how interesting it will be when you talk about specific movies.

Dear Hernan,
I would like to know what kind of movies your covering; and I know that you put some, but I’m not sure if you are covering that. Also that your topic relates a lot to Gary's, because he is rhetoric of songs, and many movies know in days have music to put the audience in the mood or situation they want to. I am as well a big fan of movies I love seeing them at home, or with my friends; sadly I haven’t had time to go see a movie with my friend. You’ve made me realize that with out the characters pathos appeals that we the audience wouldn’t enjoy these movies. I would like to know more about your topic it’s really interesting.
Sincerely,
Masyeli M.

Hernon -- You may also want to connect with Hugo who's covering "Writing about Images." In addition to using words to convey logos, pathos and ethos, directors and artists give images that power. I liked James' question -- and Vincent's personal request.

Watch and write,
